Calling Trump’s signature “worthless,” the Iranian leader said the alleged breach of the peace agreement proved the US could not be trusted, warning that continued attacks would be met with a stronger response from Tehran.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said the United States had violated a recently signed peace memorandum, accusing President Donald Trump of breaking commitments and warning of a stronger response if military attacks continue.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has accused US President Donald Trump of violating a recently signed peace memorandum of understanding (MoU), claiming the alleged breach shows the United States cannot be trusted.

In a message to the Iranian people carried by Iranian state media and reported by Xinhua, Khamenei said repeated US actions had rendered Trump’s signature “worthless and invalid” and accused Washington of failing to honour its commitments under the agreement.

Khamenei Criticises US Over Alleged MoU Violation

Referring to the memorandum reportedly signed by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Trump on June 18, Khamenei said the United States had once again failed to uphold its promises.

According to Iranian media, he described the alleged violation as further evidence of what he called the United States’ “unreliable” and “deceptive” conduct.

“The United States has once again revealed its true face,” Khamenei said, arguing that the reported breach demonstrated that Washington could not be relied upon to honour agreements.

The United States has not publicly responded to Khamenei’s latest remarks.

Warning of Further Retaliation

Khamenei warned that if the United States continued what he described as military aggression against Iran, Tehran and its allies would respond more forcefully.

He said any further attacks would be met with “unforgettable lessons,” signalling that Iran was prepared to escalate its response if hostilities continued.

His comments come as regional tensions remain high despite the reported peace framework, which was expected to pave the way for further negotiations toward a broader agreement.

Military Tensions Continue

According to Xinhua, the United States has carried out multiple strikes on military sites and infrastructure in Iran’s southern provinces in recent days, saying the operations were intended to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran, meanwhile, has launched missile and drone attacks targeting US military bases and facilities across the Gulf region, according to official reports from both sides.

Kuwait and Bahrain said their air defence systems intercepted several Iranian aerial attacks. At the same time, authorities in Kuwait reported that a key oil facility and a power generation and water desalination plant were struck during the latest exchange of hostilities.

Regional Situation Remains Volatile

The latest statements underscore the growing strain between Washington and Tehran, with both sides exchanging military action while accusing each other of violating previous commitments.

Diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions remain uncertain as the conflict continues to raise concerns about regional security, global energy supplies, and the safety of commercial shipping in the Gulf.
