Hitesh Motwani will lead InsuranceMarket.ae as CEO, while founder Avinash Babur moves to the Chairman role as part of the leadership transition.
Dubai, UAE: InsuranceMarket.ae has appointed Hitesh Motwani as Chief Executive Officer following regulatory approval from the Central Bank of the UAE, marking a leadership transition for one of the UAE’s established insurance platforms.
Founder Avinash Babur will move into the role of Chairman of InsuranceMarket.ae while continuing as Founder and Chairman of Alfred Holdings.
Motwani’s formal appointment is as CEO of AFIA Insurance Brokerage Services LLC, the regulated entity behind InsuranceMarket.ae. The two names are used interchangeably across the business.
Hitesh Motwani’s 13-year journey
Motwani’s appointment follows more than 13 years with the organisation.
He joined InsuranceMarket.ae in 2013 and has since held senior roles across operations, portfolio management, marketing and executive leadership.
He became Chief Marketing Officer in 2018 before taking on the role of Deputy CEO in February 2025.
Motwani also holds the ACII qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom.
“Hitesh understands InsuranceMarket.ae from the ground up and the responsibility that comes with the trust our policyholders, insurer partners and people place in us,” Babur said.
He added that developing future leaders has always been an important part of his leadership approach and said that Motwani had earned the opportunity to lead the company.
Motwani takes charge as Babur becomes Chairman.
As CEO, Motwani will oversee the day-to-day leadership of InsuranceMarket.ae, with a focus on its customers, employees and insurer partners.
“Taking on the responsibility of CEO is both an honour and a commitment,” Motwani said.
He added that his focus would remain on the company’s people, policyholders and insurer partners while continuing its efforts to make insurance simpler and more accessible.
Babur will continue to contribute to InsuranceMarket.ae’s long-term direction as Chairman.
His new role will also allow him to devote greater attention to Alfred Holdings, which he founded and continues to chair as its principal shareholder.
InsuranceMarket.ae’s growth
Launched in 2010, InsuranceMarket.ae has built its presence in the UAE by combining insurance services with technology and customer support.
The platform currently has more than 30,000 Google Reviews with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5.
Its growing recognition in Dubai is also reflected in the naming of the InsuranceMarket Metro Station, strengthening the brand’s visibility across the emirate.
The company now enters its next phase under Hitesh Motwani as CEO of InsuranceMarket.ae, while Babur shifts his focus towards the wider Alfred Holdings portfolio.
