UAE Flight Cancellations and Delays: What Travellers Need to Know Today

Most UAE flights are operating, but some routes remain affected by cancellations, delays, and changing schedules.

Dubai: Most flights from the UAE continue to operate on August 17, but travellers should expect delays, cancellations, and last-minute schedule changes as airlines adjust services amid ongoing regional security concerns.

Emirates has partially resumed flights to Bahrain but continues to suspend some Kuwait services. Etihad Airways has cancelled several Bahrain flights until August 21, while Air Arabia has reported multiple cancellations involving Kuwait and Bahrain. flydubai said its services to Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are operating as scheduled.

Emirates flight updates

Emirates has resumed one daily Bahrain service, although some flights remain cancelled.

  • EK835 Dubai-Bahrain: Cancelled
  • EK837 Dubai-Bahrain: Cancelled
  • EK839 Dubai-Bahrain: Scheduled to depart at 4 pm

The latest status of some Dubai-Kuwait flights was not available at the time of the update. Emirates said passengers should check their flight status 24 hours before departure.

Eligible passengers can also change their travel dates without a fee, although fare and tax differences may apply.

Etihad flight updates

Etihad flight EY479 from Bali to Abu Dhabi on August 17 was delayed because of a technical issue.

Flights EY643 and EY644 between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain are operating as scheduled. However, flights EY641-EY642, EY645-EY646 and EY647-EY648 have been cancelled until August 21.

Etihad is assisting affected passengers with alternative travel arrangements.

Flights EY653 and EY654 between Abu Dhabi and Kuwait are currently scheduled to operate.

flydubai flights

flydubai said its flights to Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are operating as scheduled.

The airline is advising passengers to check their individual flight status before leaving for the airport, complete online check-in where available and allow additional time for airport procedures.

Passengers departing from Dubai International Airport are advised to arrive at least four hours before departure.

Air Arabia cancellations

Air Arabia has reported several cancellations and schedule changes involving the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Current updates include:

  • 3L020 Abu Dhabi-Kuwait: Cancelled
  • G9068 and G9124 Sharjah-Kuwait: Cancelled
  • G9107 Sharjah-Bahrain: Cancelled
  • G9108 Bahrain-Sharjah: Cancelled
  • 3L015 Abu Dhabi-Bahrain: Flight time updated
  • Several other Bahrain services were still awaiting departure.

Travellers should check Air Arabia’s latest flight information before heading to the airport.

Other disruptions at Dubai International Airport

Several additional flights were showing disruptions at Dubai International Airport, including:

  • PA211 Airblue Dubai-Islamabad: Delayed
  • FZ909 flydubai Dubai-Jeddah: Delayed
  • F3512 flyadeal Dubai-Riyadh: Cancelled

What UAE travellers should do today

Passengers flying from the UAE should check their airline’s latest flight status before leaving home and again before travelling to the airport.

Travellers should also complete online check-in where available, allow extra time for security and immigration, and keep their contact details up to date with the airline for last-minute notifications.

Flight schedules remain subject to change, so passengers should rely on their airline’s latest confirmation before travelling.
