Here’s How Much Petrol and Diesel Will Cost in the UAE in April 2026

The UAE Fuel Price Committee has announced petrol and diesel prices for April 2026, with a sharp increase across all categories.

From April 1, motorists will pay significantly more at the pump:

  • Super 98 petrol: Dh3.39 per litre, up from Dh2.59
  • Special 95 petrol: Dh3.28 per litre, up from Dh2.48
  • E-Plus 91 petrol: Dh3.20 per litre, up from Dh2.40
  • Diesel: Dh4.69 per litre, up from Dh2.72

The increase reflects a substantial jump compared to March, marking one of the steepest month-on-month rises in recent periods.

Why Prices Are Rising

Fuel prices in the UAE are aligned with global market movements.

Since deregulation in 2015, the country has shifted from fixed pricing to a dynamic system in which rates are revised monthly based on international benchmarks.

The latest increase follows a surge in global oil prices, driven by ongoing geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions.

How UAE Fuel Pricing Works

Each month, the Fuel Price Committee determines retail rates based on average global crude and refined fuel prices.

Benchmarks such as Murban crude play a role, but pricing is ultimately influenced by broader global trends rather than a single index.

For consumers, this means fuel costs in the UAE move in sync with international oil cycles, often with a slight delay based on monthly averaging.

What This Means for Consumers

The April revision places additional pressure on transport and daily expenses, particularly with diesel prices jumping sharply.

Higher fuel costs tend to ripple across logistics, goods pricing, and overall cost of living, making fuel one of the most closely watched monthly indicators in the country.

Current Direction

The latest price hike signals continued volatility in energy markets.

As long as global oil prices remain elevated, fuel costs in the UAE are likely to stay under upward pressure, with future adjustments closely tied to international developments.
