Dubai’s property market continues to attract global football stars, with French forward Karim Benzema buying several residences and former Morocco captain Medhi Amine purchasing an apartment as he prepares to relocate to the emirate.

Benzema has acquired multiple residential units at Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti City, including a luxury residence at Vision Iconic Tower, the largest tower in the development, according to developer Binghatti.

The purchases come as Dubai continues to attract international investors, celebrities and high-net-worth individuals.

Medhi Amine Plans Permanent Move to Dubai

Former Morocco captain Medhi Amine, who represented the country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, has purchased an apartment at Eywa Tree of Life.

Amine is preparing to move permanently to Dubai, adding another prominent football figure to the city’s growing community of international sports personalities.

Igor Karpikov, Chief Commercial Officer at R.Evolution, said Dubai’s combination of global connectivity, privacy and quality of life has made it increasingly attractive to international celebrities.

For high-profile individuals, he said, the ability to maintain privacy while having access to international travel and premium amenities is particularly valuable.

Dubai’s Luxury Property Market Attracts Global Buyers

Dubai’s property market has continued to appeal to international investors, supported by its tax environment, freehold ownership opportunities in designated areas and potential access to long-term residency through the Golden Visa programme.

The emirate’s rental market also offers relatively high yields, with rental returns often ranging between 6% and 8%, according to the supplied report.

Binghatti Chairman Muhammad Binghatti said Benzema’s investment reflects the company’s growing appeal among international investors and celebrities.

The footballer joins a growing list of sports and entertainment personalities associated with Dubai property, including Tiger Shroff, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Brett Lee, Shilpa Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan.

Dubai Records Strong Luxury Home Sales

Knight Frank data cited by Karpikov showed that Dubai recorded 296 transactions involving homes priced above $10 million during the first half of 2026. The properties had a combined value of $5.1 billion.

Karpikov also pointed to Dubai’s growing focus on wellness and longevity as another factor supporting demand from internationally mobile buyers.

The establishment of the Dubai Longevity Authority and the expansion of wellness-focused residential developments are adding new dimensions to the emirate’s luxury housing market, he said.

For football stars such as Benzema and Amine, Dubai’s combination of luxury residences, international connectivity and lifestyle offerings is strengthening its position as a preferred base beyond the football pitch.
