New guidance explains steps for Indian residents and stranded visitors across the United Arab Emirates on assistance and safety measures.
The Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, issued a fresh advisory for Indian nationals living and traveling in the United Arab Emirates amid ongoing regional developments.
The advisory urged Indian citizens to remain calm, stay vigilant, and strictly follow safety guidelines issued by UAE authorities. Officials also encouraged residents and visitors to monitor updates from official government channels.
The UAE hosts more than 4.3 million Indian expatriates, making it one of the largest overseas Indian communities in the world.
Airspace Restrictions Continue to Affect Travel
The embassy noted that temporary airspace closures and flight suspensions continue due to the prevailing situation in the region.
As a result, many travelers remain stranded in the country. However, the mission confirmed that limited non-scheduled flight operations have started between the UAE and India.
Indian nationals seeking to travel can contact airlines directly for available flights operating to various Indian cities. These flights operate in coordination with UAE authorities and remain subject to operational approvals and safety clearances.
Support for Stranded Indian Nationals
Authorities confirmed that several Indian citizens stranded during the disruption have already returned to India through these special flight arrangements.
The embassy also reminded travelers that the UAE government has waived overstay fines for individuals unable to leave the country due to flight cancellations.
The decision applies to visitors whose visas expired after February 28, following the announcement by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security.
This measure allows stranded travelers to regularize their status without facing financial penalties.
Consular Services Continue Normally
Despite the disruptions affecting travel, the embassy confirmed that passport, visa, and consular services remain fully operational.
The diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai continue to coordinate closely with UAE authorities and community leaders to support Indian residents.
Officials stated that the Government of India is monitoring the situation closely and remains committed to protecting the safety and well-being of Indian citizens abroad.

- WhatsApp: +971 543090571
