The granddaughter of Sharad Pawar stayed largely out of the public eye until her high-profile Mumbai wedding.

The Bride Everyone Is Talking About

For much of her life, Revati Sule stayed away from public attention.

Unlike many children of prominent political families, she chose a quieter path, focusing on her education and personal pursuits rather than public life. That changed this week when her wedding celebrations in Mumbai became one of the most talked-about social events in the country.

Videos from the festivities quickly spread across social media. Shah Rukh Khan dancing alongside the newlyweds, Salman Khan making a striking appearance, Amitabh Bachchan greeting guests, and members of the Ambani family attending the celebrations turned the wedding into a gathering of India’s political, business, and entertainment elite.

But while the guest list attracted headlines, many people were left asking the same question: Who is Revati Sule?

Born Into One of India’s Most Influential Political Families

Revati Sule is the daughter of Supriya Sule and businessman Sadanand Sule.

She is also the granddaughter of Sharad Pawar, one of the most influential figures in Indian politics over the past five decades.

Sharad Pawar’s political career spans more than 60 years and includes multiple terms as Chief Minister of Maharashtra, as a Union Cabinet Minister, and as founder of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). His influence has shaped both Maharashtra politics and national policymaking for decades.

Despite belonging to such a prominent political family, Revati has largely remained outside the spotlight.

Unlike many second and third-generation political heirs, she has not pursued an active political role and rarely appears in media interviews or public debates.

Academic Journey From Mumbai to London

Education has played a significant role in Revati’s journey.

She completed her undergraduate studies in economics at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, one of India’s most respected academic institutions.

Following her graduation, she moved to the United Kingdom to continue her studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she earned a master’s degree in public administration.

The London School of Economics consistently ranks among the world’s leading universities for economics, public policy, and social sciences, with alumni that include heads of state, Nobel Prize winners, business leaders, and policymakers.

Her educational background reflects an interest in governance, economics, and public affairs, though she has chosen not to build a career in electoral politics.

Staying Away From Public Life

While members of political families often attract attention, Revati has maintained a relatively low public profile.

She has occasionally been seen supporting her mother during election campaigns, particularly in Maharashtra’s politically significant Baramati constituency, but has largely stayed away from political commentary and public appearances.

Friends and family members describe her as someone who values privacy and prefers to focus on her personal and professional interests rather than public life.

This limited public exposure is one reason why her wedding generated such widespread curiosity.

Who Is Sarang Lakhani?

Revati married Sarang Lakhani in a ceremony held at Mumbai’s prestigious Jio World Convention Centre on June 20.

Sarang is the son of industrialist and politician Arun Lakhani and currently serves as Executive Director of the Nagpur-based Vishvaraj Group.

The Vishvaraj Group has interests across infrastructure, engineering, water management, and industrial projects.

Beyond business, Sarang also has a sporting background. He has represented India in badminton competitions and remains actively associated with sports and business leadership initiatives.

The couple made their first public appearance as newlyweds dressed in coordinated white ensembles following the ceremony.

A Wedding That Brought Together India’s Elite

The wedding celebrations took place over two days and featured an extraordinary guest list spanning politics, entertainment, and business.

The sangeet ceremony on June 19 became a social media sensation after videos of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan dancing with the bride and groom to the iconic song “Koi Mil Gaya” from the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai went viral.

His signature pose alongside the couple quickly went viral online.

The wedding ceremony itself attracted several high-profile guests, including:

• Salman Khan
• Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan
• Ranbir Kapoor
• Farhan Akhtar
• Ravi Kishan
• Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani
• Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant
• Anil Ambani
• Uddhav Thackeray
• Raj Thackeray
• Aditya Thackeray

The presence of leaders from rival political camps highlighted the personal relationships maintained by the Pawar family across political and business circles.

More Than a Celebrity Wedding

While celebrity appearances dominated headlines, the wedding also reflected the influence and stature of two prominent Maharashtrian families.

For the Pawars, the event marked an important personal milestone. For observers, it offered a rare glimpse into the private life of a family that has remained central to Indian politics for decades.

Unlike many public figures of her generation, Revati Sule has largely chosen privacy over publicity.

Yet for a brief moment, as Bollywood stars, industrialists, and political leaders gathered under one roof in Mumbai, she found herself at the center of one of India’s most talked-about celebrations.
