Located in Sharjah Sustainable City, the Dh183 million project will include cutting-edge labs and student wellness facilities.
The Dh183 million project in Sharjah Sustainable City will feature advanced learning labs, wellness facilities, and future-focused educational spaces.
Sharjah is set to expand its education infrastructure with the development of a new American curriculum K-12 school in Sharjah Sustainable City, following a partnership agreement between the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and SANAM Group.
The project is expected to attract investments of up to Dh183 million ($50 million) over the coming years and will accommodate approximately 2,435 students from kindergarten through grade 12.
The new campus will be developed on a 29,275-square-meter plot in the Um Fanain and Al Ruqa Al Hamra area under a 35-year agreement.
The agreement was signed by Yousif Al Mutawa, Chief Real Estate Officer of Shurooq, and Dr Sulaiman Tareq Al Abduljader, Vice Chairman and CEO of SANAM Group, in the presence of Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq.
Supporting Sharjah’s Sustainable Community Vision
The school forms part of Sharjah Sustainable City, one of the emirate’s flagship residential developments focused on sustainability, integrated living, and family-oriented infrastructure.
According to Shurooq, the project aligns with the emirate’s broader strategy of strengthening community services while supporting long-term urban development.
“Education is one of the most important components of a complete residential community, and this school will support families, enhance quality of life, and contribute to the development of a more connected and liveable environment in Sharjah Sustainable City,” said Al Mutawa.
He added that partnerships with specialized private-sector education operators remain essential for delivering long-term community value and meeting the evolving needs of Sharjah’s growing population.
Campus to Include Robotics Labs and Wellness Facilities
The planned campus will feature modern classrooms alongside advanced science, technology, robotics, and engineering laboratories designed to support future-ready learning.
Students will also have access to innovation hubs, maker spaces, and three libraries tailored to different academic levels.
Beyond academics, the school aims to integrate creativity and student engagement into the learning experience through facilities including arts studios, open learning hubs, a black box theater, and a 500-seat multi-purpose hall.
The project also places significant emphasis on student well-being and safety.
Dedicated facilities will include a separate kindergarten zone with independent security measures and access points, as well as counseling offices, therapy rooms, sensory integration spaces, and specialized healthcare clinics for students.
Sports and Recreation at the Center of the Project
The campus will include a wide range of recreational and sports facilities, including an indoor sports hall, football field, swimming pools, rooftop activity areas, and landscaped green spaces.
Shaded pedestrian pathways and botanical gardens are also planned as part of the school’s sustainability-focused design.
According to SANAM Group, the development reflects rising regional demand for educational ecosystems that combine sustainability, innovation, and community-centered design.
“Together, we look forward to developing an integrated educational environment that enables academic excellence and is defined by innovation, sustainability, and community engagement,” said Dr Al Abduljader.
Once completed, the school is expected to become a major educational hub within Sharjah Sustainable City while supporting Sharjah’s wider ambition to position itself as a destination for sustainable family living and future-focused education.
