The new Visa Infinite and Visa Platinum cards offer cardholders rewards and lifestyle benefits across Aldar’s participating destinations in Abu Dhabi.

ABU DHABI: Aldar and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) have launched two co-branded covered cards that offer customers rewards and lifestyle benefits across Aldar’s retail, hospitality, education, and residential destinations in Abu Dhabi.

The ADIB Aldar Visa Infinite and ADIB Aldar Visa Platinum cards are linked to Darna, Aldar’s digital loyalty program. Cardholders can earn Darna Points on eligible everyday spending and access benefits across participating destinations.

Customers can receive up to 10% value back in Darna Points on eligible spending at participating Aldar malls, hotels, golf courses, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The cards also offer up to 1.5% value back on eligible Aldar property purchases and spending at Aldar Education.

Rewards Across Abu Dhabi’s Shopping and Lifestyle Destinations

The partnership extends rewards across several major destinations, including Yas Mall, The Galleria Al Maryah Island, the World Trade Center Abu Dhabi, Mamsha Al Saadiyat, and Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain.

Benefits will also extend to Saadiyat Grove, Aldar’s upcoming luxury retail and lifestyle destination in the Saadiyat Cultural District. The development is expected to feature more than 100 international brands, including 20 concepts new to the region, alongside signature dining and curated lifestyle experiences.

Faisal Falaknaz, Group Chief Financial and Sustainability Officer at Aldar, said the partnership brings together two Abu Dhabi-born brands focused on customer experience.

He said the collaboration would expand the Darna loyalty programme across Aldar’s residential communities, schools, malls, and hotels, while extending rewards to eligible property spending.

Amit Malhotra, Global Head of Retail Banking at ADIB, said the partnership aims to integrate banking services more closely with customers’ everyday spending and lifestyle activities.

Through the Live Aldar app, cardholders can track, manage, and redeem their Darna Points across participating retail, education, hospitality, and residential destinations.

Mario Makary, Visa’s Vice President and Country Manager for the UAE, said the collaboration connects payments with rewards and experiences, giving customers additional value from eligible everyday transactions.

The two cards offer different tiers of rewards and lifestyle privileges, with benefits subject to card type, eligibility, and qualifying conditions.

Key features include:

  • Welcome rewards: Up to 20,000 Darna Points, equivalent to Dh1,000, upon sign-up, depending on the card tier and applicable conditions.
  • Darna Points: Up to 10% value back on eligible spending across participating Aldar retail and hospitality destinations, up to 1.5% on eligible Aldar property purchases and education spending, and up to 2% on eligible international spending.
  • Darna membership status: Complimentary Gold or Platinum status, depending on the card tier, providing access to additional rewards and benefits.
  • Travel privileges: Complimentary access to more than 1,000 airport lounges worldwide, valet parking up to four times a month at selected UAE locations, and roadside assistance, subject to eligibility.
  • Annual fee waiver: From the second year, cardholders may qualify for a fee waiver by spending Dh30,000 in foreign currencies or Dh75,000 across local and international transactions during the preceding year.

The benefits are designed to connect everyday purchases with rewards across Aldar’s participating destinations while providing additional travel and lifestyle privileges.

Live Aldar App Connects Rewards and Experiences

Darna forms part of the wider Live Aldar digital ecosystem, which brings together Aldar’s lifestyle offerings and allows customers to earn and redeem rewards across eligible purchases.

Through the Live Aldar app, ADIB Aldar cardholders can explore participating destinations, view available offers, monitor their Darna Points, and redeem rewards across Aldar’s portfolio.

The partnership expands the loyalty programme by linking eligible spending on ADIB-covered cards to experiences across shopping, hospitality, education, and residential communities.

For Aldar and ADIB, the launch creates a shared rewards proposition that connects banking services with customers’ everyday activities across Abu Dhabi.
