The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that 68 people sustained minor injuries following the latest wave of intercepted missiles and drones targeting the country.

Authorities initially reported 58 minor injuries. On Monday, the ministry updated the figure, stating that air defense systems intercepted 9 ballistic missiles, 6 cruise missiles, and 148 drones, resulting in 10 additional minor injuries.

Interceptions and Impact

Since the start of the attacks, the ministry detected 174 ballistic missiles launched toward the UAE. Air defenses destroyed 161 of them, while 13 fell into the sea.

Officials also detected 689 drones, intercepting 645. Forty-four drones landed within the UAE territory. In addition, air defenses detected and destroyed 8 cruise missiles, though some collateral material damage occurred.

The ministry stated that the loud sounds heard in various parts of the country resulted from air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles and fighter jets neutralizing drones and cruise missiles.

These interceptions caused minor to moderate damage to several civilian properties.

Earlier Fatalities and Nationalities Affected

Strikes on February 28 and March 1 resulted in three fatalities in the UAE.

The injured include citizens and residents of multiple nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, and Afghan nationals.

Official Response

The UAE condemned the attacks in strong terms, describing them as blatant aggression and a violation of national sovereignty and international law.

Authorities affirmed the country’s right to respond and to take all necessary measures to protect its territory, people, and residents. The ministry confirmed it remains on high alert and fully prepared to address any further threats.

Officials emphasized that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains an absolute priority. They also urged the public to rely solely on official sources for information and avoid spreading rumors or unverified reports.
