The UAE has reaffirmed its full support for Qatar and Jordan following recent Iranian attacks that heightened tensions across the region.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held separate telephone conversations with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, to discuss the latest regional developments.

The discussions focused on recent security incidents and their implications for regional stability and international maritime security.

Leaders review recent regional developments

During the calls, the ministers reviewed developments following the reported Iranian missile attack targeting the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the attack on the Qatari tanker Al Rekayyat while it was sailing near the Strait of Hormuz.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of protecting freedom of navigation in regional and international waters, given the strategic importance of maritime trade routes to global commerce and energy supplies.

UAE expresses full solidarity

Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with both Qatar and Jordan, stressing the country’s commitment to supporting all efforts that strengthen the security and stability of the two nations.
