Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned of severe retaliation if its energy facilities are attacked, while threatening to displace Israelis to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, according to the report.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned Israel of severe retaliation if Iranian energy infrastructure comes under attack, threatening to turn the occupied territories into “scorched land” and displace Israelis to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.
IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi made the remarks in a statement shared by IRNA English on X late on Sunday, October 18, amid escalating tensions in the US-Israeli war against Iran, which began with strikes on February 28, 2026.
“Any aggression against Iran’s energy infrastructure, although young scientists will immediately repair it, will turn the occupied territories into a scorched land forever and will displace its usurpers to the Sinai Peninsula. The world will see what will happen!” Mohebbi was quoted as saying.
The statement did not identify a specific Israeli target or set a timeline for retaliation. It warned of a potential attack on Iranian energy infrastructure, not confirmation that such an attack had taken place.
Iran Warns of Retaliation Against Israeli Territory
The threat to displace Israelis to Sinai adds to the rhetoric surrounding the conflict, as both sides face growing risks to critical infrastructure and regional security.
Mohebbi’s remarks were also reported by other Iranian state-linked outlets, including Press TV. The statement did not provide further operational details about how Iran might respond to an attack on its energy facilities.
Sinai is part of Egypt, and the IRGC’s reference to the peninsula was a threat made in the context of a possible escalation. The statement did not indicate that any displacement plan was underway.
Energy Infrastructure Faces Growing Risks
Energy facilities and transport networks across the Gulf have faced increased risks during the conflict. A Reuters investigation published on October 15 reported at least 135 drone and missile attacks by Iran and allied groups on 84 critical infrastructure sites across Gulf countries since the war began.
Reported targets included energy facilities such as Qatar’s Ras Laffan liquefied natural gas complex and Saudi Arabia’s pipeline infrastructure.
The conflict has also disrupted energy markets and raised concerns about oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway that handles a substantial share of global oil trade.
An Associated Press report published on October 13 described growing risks to commercial shipping around the strait, including attacks on vessels and Iranian efforts to restrict maritime movement.
Against this backdrop, the IRGC’s warning signals the risk of further escalation if energy infrastructure becomes a direct target. However, the statement itself does not confirm any new attack or specify what action Iran would take.
