The humanitarian campaign aims to strengthen food support and community solidarity among vulnerable families during Eid al-Adha.

Sharjah Charity International expanded its humanitarian outreach during Eid Al Adha this year by distributing 25,000 sacrificial animals to vulnerable families across the UAE and 51 countries worldwide, helping nearly 250,000 people during one of the most important periods of the Islamic calendar.

The large-scale campaign was carried out on behalf of donors who entrusted the association with performing the Eid sacrifice ritual and ensuring meat reached families facing financial hardship and food insecurity.

The initiative reflects the growing role that humanitarian organizations in the UAE continue to play in international relief work, particularly during religious occasions where food distribution becomes closely connected to social solidarity, dignity, and community support.

Large-Scale Distribution Across the UAE

Within the UAE, the charity distributed approximately 4,000 sacrificial animals through its headquarters in Sharjah alongside branches located in:

  • Al Bataeh
  • Al Madam
  • Al Dhaid
  • Kalba
  • Khor Fakkan
  • Dibba Al Hisn

The meat was delivered directly to registered beneficiaries and underprivileged families through organized distribution systems designed to ensure fair allocation and efficient delivery.

The association said its teams worked to coordinate inspections, slaughter procedures, packaging, and transportation while maintaining both health and Islamic compliance standards throughout the process.

Expanding Humanitarian Reach Beyond the UAE

Outside the UAE, Sharjah Charity International distributed around 21,000 sacrificial animals across 51 countries in coordination with UAE embassies, consulates, humanitarian organizations, and local field partners.

The international component of the campaign focused on reaching vulnerable communities where rising food costs, economic instability, and humanitarian pressures continue to affect access to basic nutrition.

By working with local partners, the association aimed to ensure aid reached beneficiaries quickly and efficiently during the Eid period, when demand for food support often rises sharply.

The scale of the operation also highlights how UAE-based charitable organizations increasingly operate through global humanitarian networks rather than purely local initiatives.

Eid Sacrifice Projects Carry Direct Social Impact

According to Mohammed Rashid bin Bayat, vice chairman of the association’s Board of Directors, the sacrificial meat initiative remains one of the organization’s most important seasonal humanitarian programs because of its direct impact on families in need.

He noted that field teams and specialized committees supervised every stage of the process to maintain proper religious standards while ensuring meat quality and safety requirements were met.

Beyond food distribution itself, programs tied to Eid al-Adha often carry broader social significance within communities by reinforcing values of generosity, compassion, and collective responsibility.

For many vulnerable families, these initiatives provide not only temporary food relief but also a sense of inclusion during important religious celebrations.

UAE Charitable Organizations Continue Expanding Global Role

The campaign reflects a broader trend within the UAE’s humanitarian sector, where charitable organizations are increasingly scaling international operations alongside domestic relief efforts.

Over recent years, UAE-based charities have expanded support programs across areas including:

  • Food security
  • Medical aid
  • Refugee support
  • Disaster relief
  • Education assistance
  • Seasonal humanitarian campaigns

Eid sacrifice initiatives remain especially important because they combine religious practice with direct humanitarian assistance, allowing donors to contribute toward both spiritual obligations and social welfare.

Sharjah Charity International also thanked donors for their continued trust in the organization. It emphasized the importance of sustained support for charitable initiatives that strengthen community solidarity both inside and outside the UAE.

As humanitarian pressures continue rising globally, organizations operating at this scale are becoming increasingly important in bridging gaps between donor communities and vulnerable populations across multiple regions.
