Authorities in Al Dhaid confiscated and destroyed more than 13 tonnes of spoiled food after discovering an unlicensed warehouse operating in the industrial area.
During a routine inspection, the Public Health Department at Al Dhaid City Municipality carried out the operation, targeting facilities that fail to meet regulatory standards.
Unlicensed Facility Fails Basic Safety Standards
Upon inspection, officials identified the warehouse as operating without the required approvals and in clear violation of health regulations.
In addition, the facility lacked proper storage systems and failed to meet minimum safety requirements. Authorities classified these findings as serious health violations, pointing to systemic negligence rather than isolated lapses.
Improper Storage Renders Food Unsafe
Moreover, the seized food items had been exposed to high temperatures and inadequate preservation conditions.
As a result, these factors directly compromised food quality and safety, rendering the products unfit for human consumption.
To eliminate any risk to public health, authorities removed and destroyed a total of 13 tonnes and 170 kilograms of food.
Enforcement Focuses on Prevention, Not Reaction
The action reflects an ongoing enforcement strategy aimed at identifying risks before they reach consumers.
Regular inspection campaigns continue across Sharjah to monitor warehouses and food establishments, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
System Designed to Protect Consumer Health
The Sharjah food safety violations highlight the role of continuous oversight in maintaining food supply integrity.
Authorities rely on inspection, enforcement, and immediate corrective action to prevent unsafe products from entering the market.
The objective remains consistent. Remove risk at the source before it reaches the public.
