Return to Classrooms Across Dubai
Dubai Confirms Return to On-Site Learning
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority has confirmed that private schools and higher education institutions in Dubai will resume on-site learning from April 20.
This decision follows recent updates issued by the Ministry of Education UAE, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE. As a result, institutions across Dubai are now preparing for a structured return to classrooms.
Phased and Controlled Reopening
However, authorities will not implement the reopening uniformly across all institutions. Instead, they will approve each school or university based on its ability to meet the required health and safety standards.
By taking this approach, regulators are placing operational readiness at the centre of the process. Consequently, institutions must demonstrate that they can manage student returns effectively without compromising safety.
Hybrid Learning Still in Place
At the same time, schools and universities will continue to offer flexibility. Many institutions may adopt a hybrid model that combines in-person and distance learning.
Therefore, students and families will still have options, allowing institutions to adapt to different needs while ensuring continuity in education.
This flexibility allows institutions to adapt to varying conditions while maintaining continuity in the delivery of education.
Focus on Safety and Continuity
KHDA has emphasized that student and staff well-being remains the primary consideration.
The reopening plan is structured to balance two priorities. Restore in-person learning while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all stakeholders.
Closing Perspective
The move signals a measured transition back to physical classrooms, maintaining continuity of education without overlooking institutional readiness and safety requirements.
