From indoor skydiving to theme parks, the actor says Abu Dhabi offers the right mix of adventure and time together.

Dubai: Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, have found a destination that works for the entire family. For them, Abu Dhabi stands out as a place where parents and children can explore, relax, and genuinely spend time together.

“I love travelling to Abu Dhabi with the kids because there’s so much on offer,” Hemsworth said, describing the emirate as a destination built for shared experiences rather than rushed sightseeing.

Adventure that works for all ages

One of the family’s favourite stops is CLYMB Abu Dhabi on Yas Island. The indoor venue combines climbing walls with the world’s largest indoor skydiving chamber.

While the children tackled beginner-friendly challenges, Hemsworth and Pataky pushed themselves on tougher climbs and free-fall experiences. Because the space caters to all skill levels, the family could stay together without splitting up.

“From high-energy thrills to calmer moments, it’s a place where we’re actually doing things together,” Hemsworth said.

Surfing without the stress

Next, the family headed to Surf Abu Dhabi on Hudayriyat Island. Unlike ocean surfing, the controlled-wave setup removes uncertainty, making it easier for beginners to learn.

Parents can join in or simply watch from nearby seating areas. Food outlets and open spaces keep the atmosphere relaxed, even when not everyone is in the water.

Theme parks that balance speed and play

No family visit feels complete without Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. The park mixes high-speed rides with gentler attractions, allowing both thrill-seekers and younger children to enjoy the day.

In contrast to single-ride destinations, Ferrari World keeps families engaged for hours under one roof.

Stories, splash, and familiar characters

The itinerary also included Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, where characters like Batman, Superman, and Scooby-Doo bring familiar stories to life in an indoor setting.

Meanwhile, Yas Waterworld added a lighter note, offering water rides and attractions designed for different age groups.

Why Abu Dhabi works for families

Elsa Pataky summed up the appeal simply. “Abu Dhabi has this balance. The kids get an adventure. Adults get culture. And families get time together.”

That balance is what stands out most. For families planning a trip that avoids constant compromise, Abu Dhabi offers an easy rhythm, one where fun, comfort, and connection coexist.
