Building a Platform for Entrepreneurship
Abu Dhabi will host the Global Entrepreneurship Festival from April 20 to 22, 2026, at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center.
By hosting the event, Abu Dhabi aims to create a structured platform that supports new businesses, attracts investment, and strengthens the emirate’s position as a regional centre for entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, the festival will take place under the patronage of Zayed bin Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. His support reflects a wider effort to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on traditional sectors.
Bringing Together Entrepreneurs and Decision-Makers
The festival will bring entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders, and government officials together in one place.
Rather than limiting the event to speeches and networking, organisers will focus on practical engagement. As a result, participants will attend panels, workshops, and advisory sessions that directly address the challenges of building and growing a business.
In addition, founders will gain access to experts who can advise them on business development, funding opportunities, licensing, and market expansion. At the same time, investors and policymakers will meet promising startups in a more direct and structured setting.
Because the festival places founders and decision-makers in the same environment, it will reduce the usual gap between ideas, policy, and capital.
Three Tracks for Different Stages of Growth
To make the programme more effective, organisers have divided the festival into three main tracks, each designed for a different stage of business growth.
First, the Launch and Enablement Track will support early-stage startups. Through this track, entrepreneurs will learn how to build a strong business model, test their ideas, and enter the market successfully.
Next, the Growth and Development Track will focus on companies that already operate in the market but want to expand further. Participants will explore strategies for scaling operations, improving efficiency, and strengthening their competitive position.
Finally, the Funding and Investment Track will connect startups and growing businesses with investors, banks, and funding platforms. Consequently, entrepreneurs will have a direct opportunity to secure financing and turn business ideas into real projects.
Strengthening the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
Beyond individual businesses, the festival also aims to strengthen the wider startup ecosystem in Abu Dhabi.
Government agencies, investment firms, incubators, and support organisations will take part in the event. Together, they will provide entrepreneurs with a clearer understanding of the resources available to them.
Therefore, the festival is expected to do more than simply create networking opportunities. Instead, it could help build a more connected and long-term entrepreneurial environment in Abu Dhabi, where startups, investors, and institutions work more closely together.
The initiative is backed by key entities, including ADNOC and the Abu Dhabi Authority of Social Contribution (Ma’an), along with programs such as Athar+.
Supporting institutions like the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Khalifa Fund, Abu Dhabi Chamber, Hub71, and Abu Dhabi Customs contribute to the broader ecosystem, ensuring that regulatory, financial, and operational elements are aligned.
This level of institutional involvement reflects a coordinated approach rather than isolated initiatives.
The Bigger Picture
The Global Entrepreneurship Festival is positioned as a mechanism to bring structure to the startup landscape by aligning capital, capability, and policy within a single platform.
Its effectiveness will depend on how well these connections translate into sustained business activity beyond the event itself.
