Moon sighting marks the beginning of Ramadan and remains one of the most meaningful traditions in the Islamic calendar.
The UAE Council for Fatwa has confirmed that the Ramadan Crescent Moon Sighting Committee will convene on February 17, 2026, at 6 pm at Qasr Al Hosn, following Maghrib prayer. While the official declaration will come through authorised channels, residents can still step outside and take part in the tradition.
